A Rapid Experimentation Method for Two-dimensional Diffusion of Chloride in Concrete

In engineering practice, the two-dimensional chloride diffusion is encountered frequently. This paper proposes a rapid experimentation method for two-dimensional diffusion of chloride in concrete. A device is developed for the experiment, based on which the sampling can be performed with two-dimensional locating in the specimens. The improved Volhard titration method was presented for extraction of chloride ion from powder samples. The twodimensional contour of chloride content in the specimen is drawn. The result shows that the total and the free chloride concentration near the intersection of the exposed surfaces are higher and increase faster with time, compared with other areas.
